Dramaturgy / Script Consultancy
Ned has been working with, and offering support to, both inexperienced and experienced writers since he began writing. Encouraging people to express themselves through writing has been a life long passion.
In his early teaching years he fostered self expression through creative writing.
After his first play, Us or Them, was produced to critical and box office acclaim he began devising ways of teaching playwriting to potential writers.
This culminated at the Eora Centre for Aboriginal Performing and Visual Arts where he taught indigenous people of all ages the art of playwriting as well as acting as a dramaturg for a number of emerging indigenous writers.
He further developed this at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts where he devised and taught a playwriting course for Year 10 students.
Ned has been working as a script consultant for a number of writers including the indigenous film maker, Elizabeth Wymarra.
He is currently employed by the Victorian Writers Centre where he works as a script consultant and dramaturg.
He was Project Director in a partnership between The Melbourne Theatre Company, Arts Victoria and Bendigo Senior Secondary College teaching playwriting to
Year 11 students.
